Quay Hotel, Deganwy - Olivia & Dave
Back to one of my fave venues to work, with the team at the Quay Hotel & Spa, Deganwy. Today, the conditions couldn't have been any better, to celebrate the marriage of Olivia & Dave.
Olivia prepped with her Bridesmaids and immediate family, in the Bridal Suite, whilst Dave and the Gents and guests embraced the sunshine at the bar, downstairs. A great place to admire the view of Conwy (above) across the estuary.
I love it when a Bride and the Bridal Party are ready early. We were able to take some lovely group shots , stress free, before being called for the ceremony.
The Ceremony could now commence. I often receive requests from clients and photography enthusiasts as to what kit do I actually use to capture a ceremony, to give variation but also the facility to capture subjects in limited lighting without using flashes etc. My set up is very simple. I have a Canon 5D Mk3 and a Canon 5D Mk4 harnessed to my person. One camera body will have a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art Prime lens attached. The other, a Sigma 70-200 mm f2.8 telephoto lens.
Deganwy is a fantastic location, offering views of the estuary, leading to the open sea. Across from the Hotel, you have fantastic vantage points for both Conwy Marina and Conwy Castle.
Whilst guests enjoyed the drinks reception and entertainment, Olivia, Dave & I went on an adventure and took advantage of this beautiful area.
Now was time for a break, whilst the Wedding party dined. The Speeches followed.....with a load of laughter! As ever the set up at the Quay, was exquisite.
The entire day was full of laughter. A beautiful celebration, made even nicer due to the glorious weather - this is why I love my job! Just being amongst these happy people, makes it all worth the while :-) Into the evening, the tide was low, and the party was in full flow.......
......then there was the sunset! WOW!!!!!!
I wish both Olivia & Dave a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at the Quay Hotel & Spa or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
