Marquee Wedding, Waen - Elen & Alex
So far, this year, I've done a lot of travelling around for my Photography work. From North Carolina, USA, in May to France and Italy next month (August). Not that I'm complaining, but It's so nice to be part of an event so local - Elen and Alex married at 'Waen', approximately 4 minutes drive away from my house. They really took advantage and utilised our beautiful area and its natural surroundings.
The morning began at the family farm with Elen, the bride, and her family and friends, preparing for the day ahead. Alex, likewise, was just around the corner with his Brothers/Best Men.
Whilst Alex and the guests congregated at the local chapel, Elen and her Bridal Party completed their last bits of preparation before their unique and incredible arrival by Shire horse and carriage, courtesy of 'Gentle Giants'.
The ceremony could begin...... and Elen & Alex could become Mr & Mrs Peters. Llongyfarchiadau!!!
Look out for the amazing looking flower arches [below], created by Kate from the 'Craft Shed' - a dream to capture.
Nobody allowed the the rain to hinder the celebrations, which continued just down the road on nearby farmland. In fact I was pretty impressed when Elen climbed on top of one of the horses for a photo opportunity.
The attention to detail at the Marquee was extremely impressive. Elen, Alex and family put a lot of hard work in to restoring old farming equipment to use as tables, flower containers and anything else that could serve a purpose whilst looking aesthetically stunning.
Before evening Group Shots could commence once the rain had stopped, the guests were treated to a fine 3 course meal by caterers 'Popty Pen Uchaf'. This was followed by the traditional speeches and Cutting of the Cake.
Fortunately the rain did let up, allowing us the opportunity for some outdoor shots with the lush green grass and trees. The evening's shoot ended with the First Dance.
I wish both Elen & Alex a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married in a marquee or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
CONGRATULATIONS MR & MRS PETERS!!!!!
