Tower Hill Barns - Abbie & Emma
What a crazy morning - completely unexpected. Upon leaving my home, and joining the A55 eastbound, the heavens opened. For once it wasn't rain, but dense snow! It was relentless, and by the time I'd exited the A483 at Ruabon, I was driving on a blanket of white. I attempted to ascend the drive at Tower Hill Barns, but ended up sliding back down on to the main road, and the oncoming traffic. All I could do, was park the van half a mile away, and like a donkey, lug all of my equipment on the treacherous slippery pathways. The main thing was....I made it, and the venue looked even more beautiful.
As you can see, it wasn't a "light dusting".
Located in Trefor, near Llangollen, "Tower Hill Barns is an exclusive use, luxury barn wedding venue with areas for intimate indoor and outdoor ceremonies and 5-star on-site accommodation" [www.towerhillbarns.co.uk].
I met the brides at the venue, who were preparing for the day ahead, in separate accommodations on the grounds, with their Bridesmaids and Brides-men.
It's great to capture a wedding with 2 dresses - double the elegance, and 2 very different styles. This made for an exciting wedding shoot. How cool are the Converses too? And how cool is Emma's tattoo?
Although a little later than planned, somehow, all of the guests arrived... to witness the marriage of Emma and Abbie. It was a beautiful, emotional ceremony.
With limited daylight remaining, due to the time of the year, we needed to get the group shots done. We made use of a stunning arch underneath a bridge, on the grounds. With 2x Yongnuo YN560 speedlights set up on stands, I was able to illuminate the entire group, with crisp and vibrant results. I prioritised the larger group shots first, so that it was easier to illuminate less people, as the natural daylight diminished.
This led us into the Wedding Breakfast in the beautiful main barn. As ever, the Speeches were lots of fun and there was plenty of laughter and emotion to capture, and even some live music.
The entire journey with Abbie & Emma has been so much fun. From the initial meeting at their place, to a lovely and relaxed Pre-Wedding shoot on the River Dee and park in Chester. I love what I do, but it's made by the couples that I get to work with, and the friendliness of their family and friends. If you'd like further information on a Pre-Wedding shoot, to get comfortable in front of the camera, please drop me a message :-) [Read on... for the rest of Abbie & Emma's Wedding blog].
After Emma had an outfit change the evening party could commence. There was a great atmosphere - everyone seemed to be having lots of fun. Can you work out what Emma and her Mum were dancing to, from the photographs below? (the Singers initials are TT ).
With a couple of snowy night shots using off-camera flash, it was a beautiful way to sign off for the night after what was a great, great day. The roads were now clear for a safe journey back.
I wish both Abbie & Emma a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at Tower Hill Barns or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
Congratulations Mrs & Mrs Burns-Jones!!!
