Chateau Rhianfa - Leanne & Owen
What a day to remember! Leanne and Owen’s intimate wedding celebration at the stunning Chateau Rhianfa was nothing short of incredible. Nestled on the banks of the Menai Strait, this iconic venue is a true gem in North Wales. Its unique blend of Gothic architecture and breathtaking views of Snowdonia makes it a dream location for any wedding.
Leanne and Owen opted for half-day coverage, so I joined them from the wedding preparations through to the drinks reception. Despite the shorter coverage, the day was packed with memorable moments and plenty of laughter.
Wedding Prep at Chateau Rhianfa
The day began with Leanne’s preparations at the Chateau. The room buzzed with excitement as she, her mum, and bridesmaids got ready. Aimee Paddock did an amazing job with the makeup, while Lois Jones from Cariad at Wallt worked her magic on the hair. The atmosphere was light and fun, with plenty of laughter and a few emotional moments as Leanne’s dress details came together.
The reveal to the bridesmaids was a touching highlight. Seeing their reactions as Leanne stepped out in her beautiful dress was priceless.
The Gents’ Prep
Meanwhile, Owen and his groomsmen were preparing in another part of the venue. They kept things relaxed, sharing jokes and enjoying a bit of downtime before the ceremony. A quick round of solo and group shots captured the spirit of the morning, with Ollie (best man) even practicing pinning buttonholes in a mock setup.
The Ceremony
The ceremony setup at Chateau Rhianfa was stunning, with the backdrop of the Menai Strait and Snowdonia through the window, adding a touch of magic. Leanne and Owen exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest family and friends, with the perfect mix of heartfelt and lighthearted moments.
After the rings were exchanged and the register was signed, the couple made their exit as husband and wife to a round of applause.
Drinks Reception
The drinks reception was a relaxed affair with plenty of mingling, laughter, and a chance for Leanne and Owen to sneak away for a couples shoot. We took advantage of the beautiful surroundings for some intimate portraits, ensuring the stunning scenery played its part. Heavy rain restricted our opportunities outside, but fortunately for Leanne & Owen, Chatueau Rhianfa has so many unique locations with plenty of character, for photographs, under cover.
Inside the venue, the team had done a fantastic job with the room setup. The flowers by Einir PG added a soft touch to the décor, while the cake by Cegin Flodau stood proudly as a centerpiece. Before I left, we staged a mock cake-cutting shot to capture those classic wedding moments.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Leanne and Owen’s big day. Chateau Rhianfa is always a joy to shoot at, and their wedding was no exception. Congratulations again to the happy couple!
