Faenol Fawr - Amy & Josh

Back to Faenol Fawr and it was another lovely summers day. This time it was to capture and celebrate Amy & Josh's wedding. Here's an insight in to their day with links to their wedding suppliers at the end of the blog.

My morning began with Amy and her bridal party capturing all the wedding preparation. I take this time for all of the interactive moments between bride and the bridal party, the hair and make up and all the many details (from dress, to shoes, to venue etc). There was a sweet moment where the bridesmaids and flower girls ventured over to the barn to practice their aisle walks.

Amy' hair and make up were ready which coincided with the arrival of the gents. I gave the bridal party time to get into their dresses whilst focusing on Josh and the groomsmen who were seasonally styled in smart shorts and short sleeves.

Amy and her bridal party were now also dressed. After a couple of emotional dress reveals to the kids and dad, followed by some group photo's, it was over to the barn so that the ceremony could commence.

A huge congratulations to the newlyweds. The celebrations could begin at the drinks reception back at the main house. This is a great opportunity for those natural shots of guests enjoying themselves, a couples shoot as well as group photo's. With every pre-wedding consultation (that I arrange with every couple a month before their wedding) we are able to establish how much time we have for group photo's. Couples will then contact me in advance of the wedding with their list so that the time can be organised allowing for some quality time with their guests... with a few candid moments in between.

I always love a random request and with Amy & Josh being open minded and lots of fun, we decided on swapping some faces around on the family photo. Quite often when there are kids on a family shoot, there are many distractions, so regardless whether I take 10-20 photo's of the same group shot, there's often someone looking away in each photo. So... using 'Photoshop' (my editing software) I am able to 'cut' individuals from one photo and 'paste' them onto another. With the following edit, I went over the top and changed everyone around :-)

Before guests were called for wedding breakfast and speeches at the beautifully decorated 'Barn', I took Amy & Josh for their couples shoot on the main drive. Then it was time for food... and a bit of Sax.

Great speeches. We were treated to some hilarious stories and amazing reactions! This is always one of my favourite parts of the day! With free time available before the evening reception, Amy & Josh requested a photo in this classic VW before catching the sunset on the back lawns. Then, the evening reception could commence.

I’d like to wish Amy & Josh a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
