Hare & Hounds, Tetbury - Rachel & Lari
I was really looking forward to this one. When Rachel & Lari made contact and asked if I'd be prepared to travel to the Cotswolds to capture their wedding, it was a no brainer. It really is a beautiful neck of the woods. After asking where exactly the wedding would take place. The response was perfect - "The Hare & Hounds in Tetbury". Of the two occasions that I've visited the Cotswolds in the past... the Hare and Hounds is where I've stayed. I love it here.
Driving a VW campervan, and with having to drive a significant distance, I opted to stay the night before, at a nearby camp grounds, at a pub called the Holford Arms. This was in close proximity to the wedding venue. So, I decided to check out the grounds at the Hare and Hounds in preparation for the next day, as well as taking advantage to finally meet Rachel and Lari in person. I like to be organised and prepared going into my wedding shoots, for maximum results.
After a pleasant evening at the campsite/pub chatting with locals, enjoying a couple of beers and a good meal and after a great night sleep, I was wide awake for the big day ahead.
Rachel and Lari were getting ready at separate locations on the grounds with their bridal parties.
Lari opted for the rather suave dark blue suit, whilst Rachel chose the traditional white dress for their wedding. They both wore customised Converse trainers, which looked pretty cool and very personal. After Rachels dress reveal to her extremely proud father, Rachel joined me outside where she was met by Lari pre-wedding for a photo opportunity, whereby they got to hold each others hands without actually seeing each other, obscured by the angle of a wall. This was such a lovely unique moment to capture.
Then the ceremony could commence and they would finally get to lay eyes on one another.
With lots of happy smiling faces, the sun shining and with Rachel and Lari officially married, it was time for some celebrating and plenty of photo opportunities at the drinks reception.
Ending with the full group shot of the entire wedding party, we were all called in for the Wedding breakfast and speeches. I was kindly sat with the guests and had a lovely time mingling and eating some exquisite food.
Once the speeches had finished we were ushered outside whilst staff prepared the room for the evening reception. There was plenty more opportunity for those more candid shots of guests enjoying themselves before we returned for the traditional cutting of the cake and the first dance.
With my time coming to an end before my 3 and a half hour journey home, in preparation for a North Walian wedding the next morning, Rachel, Lari and I disappeared for some low light, evening photography. I noticed on my journey down the day before that there was a beautiful field nearby with tall grass and an area to pull over, so the brides hopped into the van for a stunning final photo shoot.
I’d like to wish Rachel and Lari a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
