Manorbier Castle - Anna & Ben

I love the opportunities which allow me to travel to a wedding, stay over the night and work at a location which well and truly gets my creative juices flowing. I've been fortunate to capture weddings in unique venues all over the world, but Manorbier Castle, near Tenby South Wales was an absolute gem. The weather wasn't great to us, but we certainly maximised the opportunities and captured a wonderful wedding for Anna & Ben.

I ventured down the evening before to check out the venue, as I always do - I like to see what I have to work with, if shooting at a new venue. The castle is located right next to this beach and the intention was to grab some photo's with Anna, Ben and their dog on the beach but the combination of gale force winds with heavy rain restricted that one. However by allowing myself time the day before to check out the castle grounds I found many areas where the driving rain failed to penetrate and noted them for the wedding, the following day.

The morning of the wedding began capturing the venue in all its glory, before meeting up with Anna and the bridal party at the onsite cottage, which was so convenient. How romantic is this setting?

Ben was staying just around the corner and arrived in style in his VW camper. Anyone who knows me will know of my love and respect for VW camper vans having recently sold my beloved T5 (which featured in a load of wedding photo's). Check out the character on Ben's - love it!

Family members took the short walk to the ceremony room, whilst I remained in the cottage with Anna and her Dad to capture the 'dress reveal'.

Anna was ready to walk down the aisle with her Dad. Guests were seated. Ben and Monty the Dog were in position. The ceremony could commence.

Congratulations to our nelyweds!!! This particular shoot, I was booked for a half day, whereby I am with couples up until they stop for the wedding breakfast. Therefore, we had a couple of hours to capture as much candid photo's as I could between group photo's and a couples shoot utilising our beautiful surroundings.

I’d like to wish Anna & Ben a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
