Nant Gwrtheyrn - Cara & David

Every summer, without fail, I love to head over to the Llyn Peninsula for a little solace in my campervan. On my journey to the campsite I pass the small village of Llithfaen with those brown tourism signs pointing towards 'Nant Gwrtheyrn'. A few years back, I decided to take a look to see what was so special about the area.... WOAH, the views surrounding this Welsh Learning Centre which doubles up as a Wedding Venue, are unbelievable. I've been wanting to shoot a wedding at this location ever since - today was the day.

The morning began with Cara and her bridal party at one of the beautiful cottages at Nant Gwrtheyrn.

After an incredibly scenic dress reveal photo opportunity, we convoyed to Capel Salem in Caernarfon for the ceremony.

After the traditional confetti shot, we exited for the reception, back at Nant Gwrtheyrn, with a short stop at a local park in Caernarfon. I look to create depth in my images with both the foreground and the background out of focus and the main subject, in this case the bride and groom, in focus.

Not a bad backdrop at all for photographs, I'll save it for later and go for a walk with the newlyweds..... meanwhile the speeches and wedding breakfast began.

With free time this evening, it made for a perfect opportunity for me to take a walk with Cara & David, along with some helpers, to really take advantage of the surroundings.

I often duplicate edits in black and white if they show emotion, contrasting tones and colours or textures and patterns. So for anyone, thinking of booking me or curious of what the end results will be, I will always deliver a variety of colour and black and white - above are some examples :-) With daylight diminishing we were called in for the evening reception and the first dance.

I wish both Cara & David a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family.
