Oriel Hotel - Sammy & Tom
A convenient 3/4 minute drive, Oriel Hotel is definitely the closest venue to my home. To make the scenario even more convenient, Sammy and her bridal party were all getting ready in the bridal suite on site, so I didn't have to flit between venues. This was Sammy & Toms day - here's an insight to what was a beautiful day, with a list of their suppliers at the end of the blog.
My morning began at the bridal suite capturing the emotion and moments of the morning, as well as some of the detail, such as the dress, shoes, rings, flowers etc. All before Tom and the gents arrived for photo's on the lawns in front of the newly painted Japanese Gardens, which looked great.
Whilst Tom and the gents welcomed guests, I headed back to the bridal suite where Sammy was now in her wedding dress ready for some dress reveals to her loved ones. Then, the ceremony could commence.
With the weather on our side, Sammy & Tom were able to marry in the Japanese Gardens under the canopy of the tree's. We were nicely sheltered and the surroundings made for some lovely photographs.
On to the Drinks reception which took place on the lawns, I utilised the time for a short couples shoot, some group photo's as well as those beautiful candid moments that everyone loves, of guests just being themselves.
Meanwhile inside, the reception room was all set up, ready for speeches, which preceded the wedding breakfast. I always love the reactions during the speeches.
Post wedding breakfast, Sammy changed into dress number 2 - her "evening dress". Sammy, Tom and I ventured back outside for an evening couples shoot using some 'Off-camera Flash' for creativity. Then it was time for the evening reception. This began with some random group photo's whereby Sammy & Tom sat on 2 chairs whilst random groups of guests would jump in to the shot for a quick snap, before the next guests took their turn. It made for some great results. The traditional first dance followed soon after.
I’d like to wish Sammy & Tom a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
