Pentre Mawr Country House - Ceri & Dave
I love returning to Pentre Mawr. A combination of the staff and owners' hospitality, the beautiful grounds and surrounding views and of course the amazing couples that I get to photograph, make it one of my fave venues to work at. Today we celebrated Ceri & Dave's wedding.
I arrived at the 'Bridal Cottage' to roars of laughter from Ceri & her bridesmaids who were on the phone to BBC Radio. Ceri was being interviewed as one of the first brides to marry in Wales with all Covid restrictions dropped.
Dave meanwhile was looking extremely content in the Safari Lodges with his groomsmen, being pampered.
Back to the Bridal Cottage where the finishing touches were being put in place... including a lovely dress reveal with Ceri and her Dad. Next... the wedding.
With the ceremony over, it was time to celebrate with the drinks reception and some delicious canapes, courtesy of the excellent Marc Macauley Catering. Whilst the guests enjoyed themselves, myself and the wonderful newlyweds wandered the grounds of Pentre Mawr.
With group shots and portraits done, Ceri & Dave could enjoy their Wedding Breakfast, and of course the dreaded speeches. I've seen many an anxious groom waiting to "get their speech out of the way" before they can properly enjoy themselves. Along with this, is the fear of what could possibly come out of the mouths of the Best Men.... My favourite time of the day for reactions, but probably not Dave's.
Before the arrival of the evening, I like to take the time between the wedding breakfast and evening reception to complete the remaining group shots and portraits in the low evening light, before the partying and music can begin.
With the party in full swing and just before I departed, there was time for a couple of quiet shots in the dark with 'Off Camera Flash' and ambient lighting.
I wish both Ceri & David a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family.
