Pentre Mawr Country House - Laura & Richard

It turns out Richard (the Groom) was Groomsmen at a wedding that I shot a few months earlier, at Vale Country Club (Link to Elen & Dewi’s Wedding). In fact, both grooms had exactly the same groomsmen. Fortunately, I loved working with each and every one of them, so it was nice to see some familiar faces.

Laura & Richard’s day was to be celebrated at one of my favorite local venues, Pentre Mawr Country House. There’s so much variety in back drops, textures, colours etc at Pentre Mawr that every photo can look so different. Also, this was my first Autumn/Winter wedding at the venue, so the colours were expected to be stunning – I wasn’t let down.

The morning began with Laura and the Bridesmaids at the Bridal Cottage. There was lots of laughter and even a choreographed song and dance that a couple of the bridesmaids had prepared for Laura. It went down well. The gents were also readying themselves in a nearby hot-tub (however those images aren't fit the blog - near nude content) before changing into their suits. Richards suit might well be the suit of the year :-)

And as for the girls..... class - love the detail and colours! I love the contrast of the green of the bridesmaids against the red leaves.

I was so glad that Laura and Richard took a punt on an outdoor wedding. Although cold, it was a beautiful November day. This made for stunning photos.

Congratulations to you both Mr & Mrs Spencer – the party could now commence.

The drinks reception was spent photographing group shots as well as a brief couples shoot with Laura and Richard in the beautiful low light. With the autumn leaves and colours this made for some beautiful results.

As expected, after what I witnessed in the previous wedding, the speeches were hilarious which meant for some great reactions.

With the party in full flow, the customary cutting of the cake and first dance followed, before a little night time photo shoot using some ambient lighting and sparklers.
