Pentre Mawr Country House - Sammy & Alan

Back in June, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sammy and Alan’s incredible wedding at Pentre Mawr Country House. Pentre Mawr Country House is such a gem of a venue. Nestled in the stunning Welsh countryside, it offers the perfect mix of charm, elegance, and laid-back vibes. The grounds are breathtaking, with lush greenery, cozy corners, and even a safari tent village for a unique twist. It’s a venue that just feels special and I'm fortunate enough to work there often.

Sammy and Alan’s day was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air. Sammy was surrounded by her bridal party, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter, smiles, and a sense of anticipation. Her dress, provided by Wed2b, was a perfect fit for the occasion—stylish and timeless. Hair and makeup were handled expertly by the amazing Look Fabulous by Sinead, adding the final touches to complete her look effortlessly.

Meanwhile, Alan and his groomsmen were looking sharp in their suits from Trefor Jones, located nearby, in Ruthin. The boys had their share of laughs too, which made for some great candid shots to kick off their wedding gallery.

Meanwhile, back at the bridal cottage....

After a couple of emotional Dress reveals, it was time for Sammy and her bridal party to join their guests and more importantly, the waiting groom, for the ceremony. There was plenty more emotion.

After the vows, we made full use of Pentre Mawr’s stunning grounds for couple portraits and group photos. The light was perfect, and Sammy and Alan were absolute naturals in front of the camera. I love how the venue provides so many different backdrops—from rustic barns to scenic gardens. But first, some confetti.

The reception took place in the marquee, which was beautifully styled. After Sammy, Alan and their guests enjoyed some drinks and lawn games, they were called in for their wedding breakfast, served up by the amazing Marc Macauley Catering.

Once the speeches were completed, it was time for food. As a unique interactive option to the wedding breakfast, guests were nominated to carve the meat on each table. I reckon these guys looked the part. I left Sammy, Alan and their guests to enjoy their food whilst I photographed the detail of the flowers and rings... and enjoyed some of the food myself.

The catering was exceptional, with everyone raving about the delicious food by Marc Macauley and his team .There was time for more photographs with Sammy and Alan during the evening reception. I utilised even more of the grounds at Pentre Mawr Country House as the lighting altered with the setting sun.

I’d like to wish Sammy & Alan a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
