Quay Hotel - Amy & Mark

My first wedding of the year at the Quay Hotel, Deganwy was an absolute delight - a beautiful and familiar venue with perfect weather conditions..... and the bringing together of Amy & Marks friends and family for their perfect wedding day. Keep scrolling for an insight into their special day.

The morning began with 'wedding preparation' at the bridal suite, overlooking the Conwy estuary, with its glorious views. During 'wedding prep', I like to take the time to capture the brides details such as the dress, hair and make up, as well as all of the candid stuff in-between, before the bride gets into her dress.

How lovely does the venue look? The beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets were expertly created by Scent with Love - they really are unreal at what they do... and check out the views of Conwy Castle.

This morning I got to work with the brilliant Sinead Waring of 'Look Fabulous by Sinead' who I'm fortunate to get to work with regularly. Sinead offer both Hair & Make-up. Today, she was focused on Amy and the Bridal party's make-up, whilst the amazing Images (from Rhyl) were on Hair.

If I were to do my wedding all over again, I would change one thing - I'd have my little girl with us (she wasn't born back then)… so for me, it's lovely to see the kids involved in the couples' special day.

Meanwhile, Mark and the gents had arrived...

After an emotional dress reveal to her Dad, Amy was ready for the ceremony, where the guests were sat waiting patiently.

With the ceremony over and the newlyweds now relaxed, it was time for the drinks reception. This was located downstairs in the 'Ebb & Flow' restaurant, which spills out to the terrace which overlooks Conwy and the estuary. During the drinks reception, I took the opportunity to complete Group photo's which were requested by the Bride & Groom. I also allocated time for a 15 minute couples shoot... which left enough time for the candid pics, that everyone likes to have :-)

Meanwhile, the staff at the Quay had set the room, ready for Wedding Breakfast and Speeches. As ever, it looked beautiful. They always do a great job!

Just before the guests could enter the room, there was one last shot to capture - the big group photo!! When the guests are all sat down, and before I take my (deserved) break, I always take the couples wedding rings and the brides bouquet for some close up's which gives me the opportunity and time to be experimental.

Then when it's time, and with a full belly, I'm called in for the speeches.

Throughout my days shooting weddings at the Quay Hotel, Deganwy, I always find myself photographing the beautiful views of the castle and Conwy Marina whilst the sun shifts it's location. Conwy Castle is always nicely lit in the evenings.

I love this pic (below)!

Before the traditions of the cutting of the cake and the first dance, there was time for an evening shoot on the lawns with the sun setting out to sea - this is such a beautiful location!!

I was lucky enough to work with some awesome wedding suppliers on this particular shoot. As ever, working alongside Sam of 'Woodpecker Films', is always a pleasure. We work so well together. This evening we also had the honour of working with immensely talented Franchesqua Evans - she's an amazing singer, entertainer and general presence in the room. And with Event Lounge along side us providing the DJ, we had the whole dream team thing going on!

I’d like to wish Amy & Mark a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
