Gemma & Lewis tied the knot in August at the stunning Quay Hotel in Deganwy, and honestly—it was one of those days where everything just clicked. The setting, tucked on the water’s edge with views across to Conwy Castle, couldn’t have been better. The weather showed up, too—clear skies, warm light, and just the right breeze to keep everyone comfortable (and the hair in check).
The Quay is a great venue for weddings—modern but not clinical, with loads of natural light and space for guests to properly relax. It all added to the atmosphere of the day, which was chilled, full of laughter, and seriously good fun to shoot.

Morning Prep – Good Vibes from the Start
The morning started with Gemma getting ready on-site. It was a relaxed build-up, with Cassie M Bridal on both makeup and hair duties. There were a few emotional moments—some big reactions during the dress reveal with bridesmaids, and then with Gemma’s dad—but overall, a calm and happy vibe.
We got a few detail shots of the dress (from Maria Modes, Macclesfield) and bouquet—created by Gemma’s mum, which made it feel that bit more personal.

Meanwhile, over to Lewis…
Lewis and the gents were also getting sorted at the Quay. Nothing too formal, just a few quick shots of buttonholes and jackets going on, plus a couple of relaxed portraits before guests started arriving. We also caught a bit of the room setup in progress, which looked great thanks to D&D Occasions handling the décor and flowers.

The Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the smaller of the two rooms, with amazing views of the castle, which worked well—it was intimate but still had loads of natural light pouring in. Gemma made her entrance, and the ceremony flew by with vows, rings, and a quick kiss, followed by the signing of the register.

Drinks, Photos, and a Stroll Around the Quay
Straight into the drinks reception, where guests had 30 minutes or so to mingle and settle in. We kept things relaxed during the couple’s shoot—quick portraits using the grounds and the water as a backdrop. We also grabbed the big group shot and worked through some family combinations, making sure everyone who mattered was covered without keeping them away from the bar too long.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
The room was reset for the wedding breakfast, with a clean layout and floral accents tying everything together. The speeches were great - funny, emotional, and just the right length.

Golden Hour & Evening Do
We ventured out of the Quay. The request is usually to go to the nearby beach or to Conwy Castle, but Lewis's request was to head to (the amazing) Archways Chippy—a little nod to the couple’s connection to the area. Back at the Quay, As things wound down before the party kicked off, we squeezed in a quick sunset shoot by the waters edge before the party kicked off with the first dance, powered by Event Lounge—who supplied both the DJ and dancefloor. The atmosphere was buzzing, and the dancefloor filled up fast.

One to Remember
Gemma & Lewis’ day at the Quay had everything—good energy, a brilliant crowd, and some great light to work with. Thanks to them for having me along to capture it all.
