Quay Hotel - Julie & Adam
This was the first Wedding Shoot of 2020. Aside from a handful of shortened services that followed, who would have thought that this would have been the first, and last, full wedding shoot of the year, due to the pesky pandemic. This blog is all the more reason to celebrate what was an absolutely incredible Winter Wedding day in January, for Julie & Adam.
The morning started with Julie and the Bridal Party at one of the suites at the Quay Hotel & Spa, Deganwy, to photograph Bridal Preparation. Keena 'Make-up Artist' was present, working her magic. I've been fortunate to work on many shoots with Keena. She is super talented and one of my many recommended fellow suppliers. Also present at the suite, was the extremely skilled Sarah of Hair Lounge.
Meanwhile, at St Hilary's Church, Llanrhos, Adam with his Groomsmen waited for guests to arrive.....looking rather smart in his Navy uniform!
Julie and the Bridal Party opted for a Vintage Volkswagen Campervan as transport - easily one of my favourite modes of transport, It always makes for beautiful photographs. The ceremony would now commence.
Congratulations to the Newly Weds!! Outside was a glorious sunny Winters day, with no wind, which made for great photo opportunities. A combination of the low winters sun, the beautiful surroundings, a happy Bride & Groom and their guests as well as the Camper van (provided by 'Hilltop Classics')..... it didn't get much better.
Incidentally, Julie's flowers were created by the extremely talented 'Scent with Love' - yet another incredible local supplier. As are 'Cameo Brides', who provided this stunning wedding dress with incredible detail. They always provide me with incredible subjects to photograph.
Then it was back to the Quay Hotel in Deganwy for more photo opportunities and to gawp at the ridiculous view across the water..... and with the added bonus of canapes and alcohol. That has to be perfection :-) And, as ever, the decor in the Quay Hotel was exquisite - they nail it every time!
After the Wedding Breakfast was devoured and with a few more drinks sank, it was the perfect time for my favourite of traditions...the speeches. Always good for a bit of hilarity and emotion!
Due to the time of year, there was plenty of opportunity to be creative after dark, using 'Off Camera Flash'. Following on from the First Dance, we headed over to the courtyard and water feature at the Quay for Sparklers.
Silv and the team from 'Event Lounge' provided the entertainment, DJ & Dancefloor for the evening, perfectly complimented by the Large 'Cariad' letters, hired from 'Love Letters'.
I wish both Julie & Adam a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at the the Quay Hotel & Spa or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Buxton!!!
