Rivercatcher - Elen & Scott

It was an absolute privilege to photograph Elen and Scott’s wedding this past June at the stunning Rivercatcher near Corwen. Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of North Wales, Rivercatcher offers a unique and intimate setting, perfect for a relaxed yet elegant celebration. The venue’s charming cottages and open grounds created a magical backdrop for what was an unforgettable wedding day... and an unforgettable weekend of celebrating for Elen, Scott and their loved ones.

The day started with plenty of excitement and emotions as Elen prepared at Cilan Farmhouse with her Bridal Party. The farmhouse was a hive of activity—there was laughter, a few happy tears, and moments of calm as Faye Makeup Artistry, and Leah from Mane (hairstylists) worked their magic. Elen's Mum and Bridesmaids played key roles during the morning prep, from helping with final alterations to orchestrating a touching dress reveal for her dad. Seeing his proud reaction was one of those moments you don’t forget.

Meanwhile, Scott and his groomsmen were at The Gameskeeper's Cottage, sorting buttonholes, sharing laughs, and making the most of the calm before the storm. Scott's sentimental watch and the guys’ sharp suits from Groom, Chester were captured during a mix of solo and group shots, before heading over to the grounds for more candid moments with arriving guests.

The structure to Elen & Scott's day was so unique and an absolute breath of fresh air. They decided to take the pressure of themselves by arranging a 'First Look' before the ceremony followed by their family group photo's. One of the highlights of the day was Elen and Scott’s private first look at Ghillie’s Cottage. It was a quiet moment filled with raw emotion—just the two of them (plus a few cameras at a safe distance).

Not wanting to feel left out, Luna (the dog) joined in for her moments in front of the camera.

Whilst we were completing all of the group photo's, guests were arriving and were seated for the beautiful outdoor ceremony, with beautiful rolling hills - a perfect setting.

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Leonard!!! After a quick main group photo, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception catered by Wild Garlic Catering with delicious cocktails served by Olives Bar. While guests mingled and explored the venue, Joel (the Videographer) and I whisked Elen and Scott away for a quick couples shoot. These fifteen minutes of alone time gave them a breather, and the photos turned out beautifully against the backdrop of Rivercatcher’s grounds.

The tipi by All About Me Marquee was stunningly decorated, featuring florals by Ivy, Pip & Rose. It perfectly complemented the relaxed yet stylish vibe of the day. The Voice Box provided the soundtrack to the afternoon whilst guests kicked back in the sunshine, before being called for the wedding breakfast.

After some heartfelt words during the speeches and lots and lots of laughter, it was time to hit the dance floor, starting with Elen and Scott's First Dance.

Elen and Scott’s wedding was a testament to what makes a great day—love, laughter, and being surrounded by the people who matter most. Rivercatcher provided the perfect setting for a celebration that was both intimate and full of character.

A huge thanks to the incredible suppliers who helped bring this day together. To Elen and Scott, thank you for trusting me to capture your story. Here’s to many happy years ahead!
