In the heart of the Cheshire countryside, just a short drive from Chester, sits Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa – a venue full of character, with beautiful grounds and a relaxed charm that makes it ideal for a wedding. I had the pleasure of joining Emma and Scott here in August for what turned out to be a truly memorable day – not just for them, but for everyone involved.

From start to finish, it was a day full of energy, laughter, and some lovely moments – and with the weather playing its part, it gave us the perfect conditions for photography.

Morning Preparations

The day started with Emma and her bridal party who were getting ready at the on site apartments. There was a calm atmosphere, with a few emotional moments shared in between the usual buzz of prep.

Hair was taken care of by Hannah Bradley Hair, and makeup by Andrea Prior, both doing a brilliant job as always. There was time for some dress details and a bit of fun during a quick alteration session with Mum and Ellie, followed by a lovely reveal with Emma’s dad before heading to the ceremony.

Over in Room 121, Scott was getting ready. I was on hand to capture Scott and his best man fixing buttonholes and a few other finishing touches, before we captured some solo and group shots in the sunshine. The morning had a nice pace – relaxed but focused – with just enough time to grab a few venue detail shots before guests began arriving.

Indoor Ceremony

With the weather already shaping up nicely, the indoor ceremony space at Rowton Hall looked great – bright, welcoming, and set up perfectly (and felt way cooler than the outside temperature). Emma’s entrance was met with big smiles, and the ceremony itself was a perfect balance of heartfelt and light-hearted.

After exchanging vows and rings, and signing the register, the new Mr & Mrs exited to a round of applause, followed by confetti and the main group photo outside – with the sun very much on our side.

Drinks Reception, Bruno the Dog & Portraits

The drinks reception got underway just as Bruno the dog made his entrance – a definite crowd-pleaser and a lovely addition to the day. A few relaxed photos with Bruno followed before Emma and Scott took some time to chat with their guests.

We then stepped away for a short 15–20 minute couples shoot in the gardens – plenty of natural light, no rush, just a relaxed walk with a few quiet moments in between. This was followed by the group photos and a quick look at the room setup ahead of the meal.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

Guests were called in for the wedding breakfast, with speeches taking place first – always a nice way to settle into the evening. The speeches brought a great mix of laughter and emotion.

Evening Light & Dancefloor Moments

After dinner, we made the most of the early evening light with another short portrait session – golden tones and a bit of quiet time for the couple before the party really got going.

Evening celebrations kicked off with the cake cutting and first dance, with plenty of dancing, and a packed floor. The photo booth by Best Man Events kept guests entertained throughout the night and gave everyone a chance to get involved.

Emma and Scott’s wedding at Rowton Hall was a brilliant day to be part of – full of genuine moments, plenty of personality, and the kind of relaxed energy that makes the job an absolute pleasure.

A Few Final Thanks

It takes a great team to help pull a day like this together, so here’s a quick look at the suppliers who helped make Emma & Scott’s day such a success:
