Tower Hill Barns - Katherine & Jordan
Tower Hill Barns is always a pleasure to return to. This time it was for the celebration of Katherine's and Jordan's marriage. It was another glorious summers day which began at the Bridal Cottage on the grounds of the venue. "Tower Hill Barns is an exclusive use, rustic luxury barn wedding venue with indoor & outdoor ceremony areas, set in North Wales countryside". (https://towerhillbarns.co.uk/)... it really is stunning.
Katherine and her bridal party utilised the space at the Bridal cottage for hair, make up and a spot of breakfast before shifting across to the main building to change into their dresses. The ceremony was to take place at a small village near the town of Ruthin, called Efenechtyd, which was a good 35 minutes away from the venue. I used this time to capture some of the detail at the venue as well as some interactive shots between the bridal party and suppliers.
With some groups shots of Katherine and the bridesmaids completed I departed for the church, where Jordan and the gents were waiting patiently. Guests had started to arrive already and the small church was beginning to fill. With Katherine soon to arrive the ceremony could commence.
Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs MacCarter. Before we all disappeared in the direction of Tower Hill Barns, there was time for confetti. Guests set up an aisle on the road outside the church to celebrate the newlyweds, then it was on to the drinks reception.
With the booze flowing and the incredible canapes served (by the way, food here is immense) Katherine, Jordan and I wandered the grounds for a quick photoshoot whilst the weather conditions were on our side.
Together, with my new sidekick, we moved onto the remaining groups shots. One of the great things about the venue is that you don't need to go far for beautiful backdrops for photo's, whilst remaining close enough to the crowds to round guests up for group shots. Meanwhile, the guests were being serenaded by an amazing gospel trio.
My last photo to capture before guests were called for speeches and the wedding breakfast was the main group shot of the entire wedding party. This went well enough. I just needed a step ladder to gain some height for a decent vantage point.
With food devoured, guests flooded outside to enjoy the beautiful evenings heat and for some more live music. This time from Lee Gordon. Katherine, Jordan and I took the opportunity for one last couples shoot, with the low sun setting and a scattering of clouds in the sky. It was perfect for creating silhouettes and for a little off camera flash.
Into the evening reception, which was kicked off with the tradition of cutting the cake, before Katherine & Jordan were called to the dancefloor for their first dance.
I’d like to wish Katherine & Jordan a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
