Vale Country Club - Kirstie & Chris
After a week off from Photography and editing, whilst I enjoyed turning 40, it was back to shooting weddings. Back to the Vale Country Club, for yet another beautiful day. This time to capture Kirstie & Chris's special day.
My morning began at Kirstie's family home in Mynydd Isa with her Mum and bridesmaids. Similar to most 'wedding prep' that I photograph, my focus was to capture the natural interaction and emotion between bride and her bridal party as well as the detail - typically, the dress and hair and make up.
With a 20 minute drive ahead, I left early whilst the girls hopped into the vintage Rolls Royce. I was greeted by Chris in his Navy uniform, looking very smart. Guests continued to arrive so I took a moment to photograph them as well as the ceremony room at Vale Country Club, which looked incredible.
Congratulations to the newlyweds. It was a beautiful ceremony which began with lots of emotion and nerves, and ended with relief, happiness, lots of confetti and lots of booze.
I used the time during the drinks reception to photograph the room where guests would be dining soon after, as well as the guests mingling and enjoying themselves. I also take this opportunity to capture requested group shots and 15-20 minutes to take a walk with the happy couple, for their very own photo shoot. All before Kirstie and Chris were called for their Wedding Breakfast and speeches.
I loved the speeches at this wedding - lots of embarrassing stories and a load of laughter. Guests were even treated to Ian's Closeup Magic for entertainment. The fun spilled outside where we once again were treated to lovely conditions, especially for photography. I love those guests who take it on themselves to raise the party up another notch. On this occasion I followed a guest with tray loads of shots for willing guests to throw back.
The evening reception was underway, taking in the traditions of 'Cutting the Cake' and the 'First Dance'. I ended my evening with an absolutely beautiful sunset, which I took advantage of with a little 'Off-camera flash'.
I’d like to wish Kirstie & Chris a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
