Vale Country Club - Rachel & Sean

Back to Vale Country Club and I was really excited for this day. I've known Sean for a long time, and we share similar friends and family members. After meeting Rachel a couple of times on the build up to this wedding, I knew this day was going to be so much fun - they didn't fail me! Incidentally, and just to confirm, this is my second Rachel & Sean wedding at Vale Country Club in as many months.

The morning began with Bridal preparation at Rachel & Sean's home in Denbigh, with Rachel, her parents, the bridesmaids, Make up artist Sinead Waring, Hair stylist by Hannah Chloe Mobile Hair Stylist and not to forget Ben Powell Films - a great team of wedding suppliers.

On to Vale Country Club, and we were blessed with perfect conditions, yet again. Here, Sean and the groomsmen waited.

The venue was fully decorated. Guests were seated. Sean was standing nervously.... and Rachel and her bridal party were travelling up the long drive. The ceremony could commence.

Congratulations to Rachel & Sean. It was a beautiful ceremony full of laughter, and before drinks were served I witnessed one of the most dense clouds of confetti I think I've ever seen, which contrasted beautifully with the Clwydian backdrop.

This flowed perfectly into a group shot of the whole wedding party, before a couple of hours of photographing guests enjoying the drinks reception, group photos, some wedding detail and a 15 minute photo shoot of the newlyweds.

The speeches were great. Lots of embarrassing stories made for the best reactions... and there were many speeches. One of which involved a game of "Mr & Mrs" which ended with free pouring bridesmaids, fueling the guests with Apple Sourz (see below).

All in all, a load of fun. Outside, the lighting was perfect - the low sunlight created perfect rim lighting (halo effect) behind Rachel and Sean. This is when it's worth taking the opportunity to be extra creative. So, as evening guests arrived, I managed to sneak Rachel & Sean away, for some low light shots, before the traditions of Cutting the cake and the First dance.

We were treated to some great reactions during the throwing of the bouquet. The best of all of the reactions however was when Rachel & Sean cut the cake over the iconic well, only to drop the knife.

What a day! I’d like to wish Rachel & Sean a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
