Vale Country Club - Sophie & Chad
On a gorgeous day in North Wales, my friends, Sophie and Chad celebrated their love in a picturesque setting at Vale Country Club. As a wedding photographer based nearby, I was thrilled to capture their special day, especially since it involved the shortest commute I've ever had for a wedding shoot!
The day began with preparations at Sophie’s home, conveniently located opposite my house. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and nerves as Sophie and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day. I captured the some of intricate details of the wedding as well as hair and make up, courtesy of the amazing Poppy Michelle.
I went ahead of Sophie and took the opportunity to photograph the dress detail and venue setup. Vale Country Club, a stunning venue nestled in the heart of North Wales, boasts breathtaking views and elegant facilities, making it an ideal location for a wedding. I'm lucky enough to work here often.
At the venue, Chad and his groomsmen were already making their final preparations. I captured the camaraderie as they adjusted jackets and buttonholes, and we took some solo and group shots. Sophie meanwhile was getting into her dress before a beautiful dress reveal.
Once guests were seated and Chad and groomsmen were in position, the ceremony could commence.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Davies. Before drinks were served we made time for the confetti toss, followed by the main group shot of the entire wedding party. Then the celebrations could begin. During the drinks reception, guests mingled and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings for about 20-30 minutes. We then proceeded with a couples shoot and group photos, capturing the love and happiness shared by all. The room was also set up during this time, ready for the evening festivities.
Speeches followed the Wedding Breakfast which allowed me time to take a break also. I took the time to capture the flowers and wedding rings before being called in a little later to capture the candid reactions during the speeches.
In the free time following the wedding breakfast, Sophie, Chad and I took the time for another couples shoot, utilising a different location with the more creative evening light. I took advantage of a little off-camera flash as well as photo's at the newly unveiled shepherds hut.
The evening continued with a lively kids disco, ensuring fun for guests of all ages. My little daughter had arrived with my wife for the evening celebrations so she had lots of fun dancing with Sophie & Chad's son - this was lovely for me to witness. Sophie and Chad cut their beautiful wedding cake and shared their first dance as a married couple, a lovely moment. The party atmosphere was further lifted by the talented Sophia Sax (saxophonist), creating a perfect end to a perfect day.
