Wigfair Hall - Lisa & Tom

In May, I had the privilege of capturing Lisa and Tom’s wedding day at the stunning Wigfair Hall. With every wedding, there’s always a unique story, and this one was filled with heartwarming moments, laughter, and a few tears. From the preparations in St Asaph to the beautiful ceremony at nearby Cefn Church, and finally to the evening celebrations, it was a day that beautifully celebrated their love story.

The day started at Lisa’s family home, where excitement filled the air. It was all hands on deck as everyone prepared for the big moment. From delicate details of the dress to the flurry of emotions during hair and makeup, it was clear this was going to be an unforgettable day. Lisa shared a sweet moment with her mum, making last-minute dress alterations, and then the big reveal – first to her bridesmaids, and then to her dad. Each reveal brought more smiles and a few happy tears. There’s nothing quite like those first looks with the people who mean the most.

Meanwhile, Tom and the guys were at the church, suiting up and adding finishing touches. Each buttonhole was meticulously pinned, with Tom carrying a meaningful safety pin in his jacket pocket as a tribute to loved ones who couldn’t be there. As guests began arriving, the church buzzed with anticipation.

Lisa arrived in style, with her dad by her side. We snapped a few photos in the car, capturing that precious father-daughter moment just before they stepped out and walked toward the church doors. It’s those little moments that make the memories last a lifetime.

Inside the church, Lisa made her grand entrance, and you could feel the love in the room as she walked down the aisle. There were vows, a tear or two, and a kiss to seal the deal. Signing the register was a special moment shared with their witnesses, and then it was time for the couple to make their exit, now officially Mr. and Mrs.!

Outside, the celebrations continued with a flurry of confetti – one of my favourite parts of any wedding day. The family gathered for group photos, creating a lovely mix of formality and fun. We managed to sneak in a quick couple’s shoot in the doorway and captured a few sweet walking shots before they hopped back into the car to head to the reception.

At Wigfair Hall, guests enjoyed mingling and chatting while a harpist set the scene with beautiful music. Lisa and Tom took a moment for a couple’s photo with the classic cars outside, adding a timeless touch to their wedding album. Inside the marquee, I captured many details as well as the flowers and rings, while the guests continued to mingle and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. We also took a few more couple’s photo's in the beautiful gardens, taking advantage of the soft lighting, before being summoned for speeches and the wedding breakfast.

The speeches brought laughs and tears, with heartfelt words that truly celebrated Lisa and Tom’s journey together. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious meal in the marquee, surrounded by fresh flowers and thoughtful decor. This setting was the perfect backdrop for the couple’s first meal as husband and wife.

As the sun began to set, we took the opportunity for an evening shoot. There’s something magical about that golden light, and it added a dreamy touch to the photos. There was time before hand for a photoshoot inside the beautiful hall - there is so much character and history. Then, after a quick and very competitive round of crazy golf it was time for the cake cutting, a traditional moment that never fails to make everyone smile. And of course, the first dance! Lisa and Tom moved on the dance floor, surrounded by their loved ones, marking the perfect end to a beautiful day.

I’d like to wish Lisa & Tom a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
